A Friend is Someone - Card

I think I said recently that I'd never really done flowers.  I guess I'm making up for lost time....

I adore this sentiment.  Hope you like the card!

This took an embarassingly short time to create.  Gotta love those pre-made flowers that compliment the paper!

Card Synthesis
Reagents:
Adirondack Pitch Black
Spellbinders: Romantic Rectangles
Prima Nature Garden, A4 size or 6x6" pad
Prima Trimmings - the printed twill for the bow

You Are Amazing - Card

This card is made from the same paper "family" as the last card, Kaisercraft's Magnolia Grove.  I love this paper pack.  I could do a completely differently coloured card using the greens, too.

I try not to overwhelm you by using too many products, but this card just kept growing! Sorry!
This embossing folder is very nice.  In fact, it is laid out so that you can run your paper through your machine, cut off the top section and fold the corners in to make flaps.  Pretty interesting!

When I thought I should be done, the card seemed to be missing something.  Seems I did this with the last card, too....  So I added the Macarena Corners and that made me happy!

Here is the synthesis:
Reagents:
Quietfire's You Are Amazing rubber stamp
Magnolia Grove 6.5" Paper Pad by Kaisercraft
Red Pepper Pigment Pad (for stamping the quote)
Bundled Sage Distress Ink (for shading around the quote)
Crafts Concepts Embossing Folder Debonair Edges
Cardstock
Spellbinders Standard Circles LargeStandard Circles Small
Memory Box Macarena Corner Die
Pop Dots, Glue Dots, Double-sided tape

Thanks for looking!  Suzanne

I Wouldn't Have Missed Being Your Friend - Card

If you wanted to know more about this card...

This card was originally not going to have any decorated paper on it, then I received this beautiful new paper set (Magnolia Grove) from Kaisercraft and had to use it!  This was my first opportunity to use my Becca Bow Maker and it worked easily (once assembled) and voila! I had a bow!  Next time I'll go for a more complicated bow!

Even though I was really please with my first Becca Bow, I thought it needed something else, so I added this very cool and delicate Memory Box Macarena Corner.

The two colours of stamping ink were blended around the edges of die cut bearing the quote by using the Foam Blending Tool.  The two colours give it so much more depth.  Distress Ink is not my favourite for stamping Quietfire Rubber stamps, although I used it here for colour matching.  I always think pigment inks work better for preserving the crispness of the lettering.  Note to Tim Holtz:  Make me Distress Colours in Pigment Inks!!

This was my first time using Pearl Flourishes and I was pleased that the adhesive strip they are on was firm enough to drap nicely over multiple layers.

A special thanks to Chris Wallace from Walnut Hollow for suggesting this quote.

Here are the ingredients for this card:
Magnolia Grove 6.5x6.5" Paper Pad from Kaisercraft
Spellbinders: Splendid Circles, Standard Circles Small
Memory Box: Macarena Corner

Thanks for taking a look!  Suzanne

And Now For Something Completely Different. Sort of.

This came across my desktop because, I admit, I'm a fangirl (but I don't drool. Don't even *ask*!).  But this video hits the artist in me and makes my heart sing! You'll know the parts I mean. You don't even have to listen to what he's saying!

Thanks for indulging me!  Suzanne
